AG 601
The Australian Gas Association has no objection to references directly
to, or extracts from AG 601 in your installation instructions.
We would like, however, appreciate that where fairly long extracts
are used, as they are in your instruction, an indication of the
fact that the Code is published by the Australian Gas Association,
and where space permits, contact details indicating where to obtain
the full Code are also included.
There is no need to obtain clearance with us each time you refer
to the Code.
Barbecues
AG 107 "Approval requirements for Domestic Outdoor Gas Barbecue
Grillers" is the Standard to which most outdoor barbecues are
certified by the Australian Gas Association.
As the name of the standard implies, these appliances are only
certified for outdoor use. The Australian Gas Association is the
certification organization for appliances, the Office of Gas Safety
is the body with jurisdiction over installations in Victoria. If
you have an issue with an inappropriate installation, the Office
of Gas Safety will be able to assist you to resolve it.
The best person to contact is probably is probably Mr Jim Hughes,
Manager, Gas Installation Safety. His phone number is (03) 9341
3800.
I hope I have been of some assistance, if you require further information,
I can be contacted on (03) 9532 2644 or email chris.blogg@gas.asn.au
Yours sincerely
